Psp firmware 6.60 gbe emulatoe install#
On this PSP's, you can only install the 6.20 PRO temporarily or the 6.35 PRO 9g is limited to PSP 3000, so if you have a PSP 1000, 2000 or Go, you don't need to worry about it. Some new models of the PSP 3000 (9g) doesn't allow you to install it permanently. The 6.20 PRO can't be installed permanently on every PSP. The compatibility should be nearly or exactly the same for backups, homebrew and plugins.

If a permanent patch for 6.35 get's released, I will update this thread to reflect the new changes. A permanent patch for it would require a lot of work.
This is due to the new checks that were build in the 6.35.
The 6.35 PRO and 6.39 PRO can only be installed temporarily and will be erased as soon as you turn off your PSP. That means, if you turn off the PSP, that it is still installed. The main difference between those two is, that the 6.20 PRO can be installed permanently. This tutorial was created by me, but every program in this thread was created by others.ĭifferences between 6.20 PRO, 6.35 PRO and 6.39 PRO: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PSP. I also added the downgrading option for the people who want to have the permanent 6.20. A Custom Firmware for Firmware 6.20, one for Firmware 6.35 and one for Firmware 6.39. Don't await any fancy graphics, this will be a simple text guide with a few screenshots to help you.

Can that be a cause of the problems?Īny help would be appreciated! I mainly bought a PSP again for SNES and GBA emulation, so it's really a bummer that it's not working as well as I remember my old PSP working for those applications. In the following I will write a detailed guide on how to update your PSP to the newest hackable Firmware and how to install the newest (Light) Custom Firmware. I haven't done this at all with this PSP. (snes9xtyl 0.4.2 ME and UO gpsp kai 3.4 test 1 build 2)Īlso, I remember back in the day I used to have to create GAME150 folders in PSP's directory for some of these emulators. I used this link to see what emulators to download: I did buy the system used, so maybe the memory card that came with it could be a fake and is causing problems? It is a Sony 4 GB one though. Does anyone know what could be wrong? FWIW, PS1 games run fine and without any hiccups. I really have no idea what to do at this point. The games play their opening videos/whatever, then get to the games' main menus where you can choose start game, and usually after I try to start a game, it just goes to a black screen and then I have to either exit the emulator or turn off the PSP if that doesn't work.Īnyone have any idea what's going on? I used to have a PSP 1000 a few years ago and remember running GBA games on it no problem, and while some SNES games had their issues, it was not nearly as bad as this.
I'm only trying to run GBA and SNES emulators, but for GBA, Advance Wars shows no dialog in the dialog boxes, Super Mario World has graphical glitches at the top of the screen (especially the levels with clouds above you), and the Mega Man Zero games also have graphical glitches.Īs far as SNES goes, I haven't gotten any game to get past the start screen yet. My firmware is 6.60 PRO-C, but it seems like the emulators hardly run any games at all without serious issues. Hey guys, I seem to be having a problem with SNES and GBA emulation on my PSP.
